Empower - Home batteries made in Frenchs Forest
At the 2025 Home Show in Sydney in May we learned of the only Australian manufacturer of home batteries, right on the Sydney Northern Beaches, in business since 2010. Yes, the inverters, the brains, the enclosures and all that are engineered and made locally. Only the battery cells are being imported from China, as one would expect.
What sets it apart from imports? The phrase "Made for Australian conditions" is deserved in this case. The enclosures are given a coating that withstands even salt in the air, which is important in coastal regions. Fans are fitted to draw air through the enclosure in order to deal with the heat found in the north of Australia. There are many more benefits, please check their website. Urs from Go Solar Mackellar spoke to Farhan who was kind and happy to share his knowledge.

Tindo Solar - Solar panels made in Adelaide
Were you aware that we have a manufacturer of solar panels in Australia? We certainly were not and think more people will choose an Australian made panel if they knew about it. Apart from the obvious, supporting local industry, there are some compelling reasons to go with a panel made for Australian conditions, e.g. thicker glass that will sustain hail.
We first learned of Tindo at the 2025 Smart Energy Conference in Sydney in April. Urs from the team of Go Solar Mackellar had the opportunity for a factory tour in Adelaide more recently.

This is where it all happens.

Proprietary storage elements, which hold the panels on each corner for maximum protection during shipping. They will be retrieved from installation site and reused at the factory.
After rigorous testing, panels are stacked, ready for shipping.
Sigenergy - Home battery system with V2G option
At the 2025 Smart Energy Conference, Urs from Go Solar Mackellar learned more about this "most talked about" brand in 2024/25 when it comes to home batteries in Australia.
You can choose from just about any imaginable combination of storage capacity, single and 3-phase, and output power options. Most notable though is the DC Charging Module, which will add V2G (Vehicle to Grid) capability and can also be added later.
We spoke to Donald Yelland of Cactii, one of the installers who serves the Northern Beaches.
Sigenergy installers on the Sydney Northern Beaches include Cactii and Solar Pro. Contact Sigenergy for a full list.

Click on this screen to enlarge - and you will understand why we are so excited about the options the system gives you.
Surely your desired scenario can be accommodated.

Urs is taking in the excitement at the Sigenergy booth.
